Enrichment
Workindoggz’ is an enrichment based program for dogs in daycare. Enrichment activities greatly enhance your dog’s experience with us - while also creating positive changes at home and strengthening the bond between you and your dog. We incorporate enrichment activities into our daily daycare and boarding routine and have add-on activities to provide your dog with 1:1 or group enrichment experiences.
What is enrichment, and why is it so important?
Enrichment is a series of activities designed to stimulate your dog’s mind, body, and senses.
It’s much more than just fun and games - it’s about engaging their natural instincts, encouraging problem-solving, and helps prevent boredom. Whether it’s through interactive toys, scent work, puzzle games, or social interactions, enrichment provides a meaningful outlet for your dog’s energy and curiosity, while building confidence and lowering anxiousness

Why is Enrichment Important at Daycare?
Just like us, dogs need more than just physical exercise to thrive. Without mental stimulation, even the most active dogs can become bored, anxious, or develop undesirable behaviors like excessive barking or chewing. Enrichment activities help to balance your dog’s physical and mental needs, leaving them happier, more relaxed, and ready for a good nap by the time they come home.
How Enrichment Benefits YOU
At home when dogs engage in enrichment activities, they experience mental fatigue, which is just as important as physical exercise. In addition, enrichment provides a meaningful outlet for your dog’s energy and curiosity, while building confidence and lowering anxiousness. A dog that’s mentally stimulated throughout the day is less likely to engage in destructive behaviours at home. Instead, they’ll be much more likely to settle down, relax, and enjoy some quiet time with you.Over time you’ll notice a calmer, happier dog who is more balanced and easier to manage in everyday life.
The Benefits of Enrichment at Daycare
-
Calmer dogs: A mentally engaged dog is a happy, calm dog, both at daycare and at home.
-
Improved behaviours: Dogs who experience enrichment show fewer signs of frustration and boredom.
-
Socialization: Enrichment activities often involve interacting with other dogs, building social skills in a safe, supervised environment plus dogs will also get the chance for 1:1 attention throughout the day with a handler.
-
Mental stimulation: Keeping your dog’s brain active can help prevent anxiety and stress.
-
Better overall well-being: Enrichment provides a holistic approach to your dog’s care, ensuring they are mentally, physically, and emotionally satisfied.
Our Commitment to Your Dog’s Well-Being
At our daycare, we are committed to continuously improving our services to benefit not only the dogs but also you, the owners. By including enrichment in our daily schedule, we’re helping to make your life a little easier by providing a calm and fulfilled companion when they return home from a fun-filled day. You’ll have a dog who is happy, relaxed, and content—a dog who is more than ready to unwind after their day at daycare. If you have any questions about our enrichment program or how it can specifically benefit your dog, we’re more than happy to chat with you. Together, we can ensure your dog has the best experience possible, both here at daycare and at home with you.
We are always looking for ways to increase our staff's knowledge, enhance the experience for the dogs, and improve our service to you. Our enrichment program supports all of these goals. It’s designed to offer more than just a safe space to play - it creates an environment where your dog’s overall well-being is our top priority.
